Bodh Gaya, located in the state of Bihar, India, is one of the most important pilgrimage sites for Buddhists around the world. It is the place where Lord Buddha attained enlightenment under the Bodhi Tree over 2,500 years ago. Today, Bodh Gaya is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a center for Buddhist pilgrimage and study.
The Mahabodhi Temple, built in the 5th or 6th century AD, is the most sacred site in Bodh Gaya. It marks the spot where Lord Buddha attained enlightenment and is considered one of the oldest brick structures in India.
